If you have water stains that go across the ceilings or down your walls, it is probably a roof leak. Finding the leak can be tedious but the repair is pretty simple if caught early enough.
If you do have a roof leak, you’d better fix it immediately, even if you’re getting a new roof soon. Small leaks can lead to bigger problems, such as mold, rotted wood, destroyed insulation and damaged ceilings. If you deal with a small leak right away it won’t cost as much as it will if you wait a few weeks or months.
The first step is checking to see what damage is done and what will need to be replaced, if in fact it is a leak and not wind driven rain.
